Normally, I am not a big fan of chocolate. So, when my best friend requested brownies for her birthday instead of cake (I know, she's crazy) I looked high and low for a good recipe. I found this recipe from allrecipes.com and they were soooo good, I even ate several of them. I topped them with Chocolate Cream Cheese buttercream - do we see a trend here??
Brownie Recipe:
8 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
1 cup butter
Melt in pan on low, set aside.
5 eggs
3 cups sugar
1 TB vanilla
Mix (hopefully you have a stand mixer) on high for 10 minutes. Very important, don't cheat on the time.
While egg mixture is mixing, sift together 1-1/2 cups of flour and 1 tsp of salt. Set aside. After the ten minutes is up, add the chocolate mixture and flour mixtures one at a time and mix until just incorporated. Pour into the pan of your choice (I used a square 10"x2" pan) and bake on 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Now - enjoy!
