A little about me...

They say you can't have your cake and eat it too... Well, I say you CAN!

Hi my name is Dottie. I am a wife, mother and baker.

I love cake. And even more than I love cake, I LOVE frosting. Put us together and something magical happens! I love trying new recipes and flavors!

These boots were made for . . . eating!

I made these cookies a few days ago for a Relief Society dinner. I finally found a yummy royal icing recipe that is perfect! It doesn't dry rock hard and it actually has flavor AND stays shiny! Yum!

Fancy Cupcakes

I got asked to do a feature article in The Leader for the Bridal Section - who would say no?!? I made these darling (and delicious I might add) cupcakes for a photo, they turned out so cute. There are soooo many options of what a person can do for top design on the cupcakes, frosting colors, icing techniques... I think cupcakes are my fave! You can see the article at www.tremontonleader.com

Valentine Cupcakes

I made these cupcakes just for fun on Valentines day - one of my favorite flavors, just fluffy almond cupcakes with an almond buttercream frosting. YUMMMMMM!

Wilton Class - January

Here are the final cakes and cupcakes from my Wilton class in January. Great students and great job done by all! A few of them were camera shy, but that's ok :)
Way to go ladies!

Vintage Inspired

This beautiful cake was for a family member who was getting married - she had the most darling reception decor (by Embellish the Moment) and I just LOVED her idea for this cake. I had to get two pics on here to show some of the gorgeous decor - you can check it out more at Embellishthemoment.net. The cake was a 6" round vanilla/vanilla cake and an 8" round chocolate/cookies n' cream cake. Not only is it simple and elegant, it is going to taste amazing too! Congrats!

Candy Cake

This cake was for my little Affie, who turned 2 in December. She loves candy (of course!) so I made a cake that had fondant suckers & candies and even a giant cupcake on top. The cupcake cake was vanilla cake with strawberry cream filling and the second layer was an 8" round pumpkin/cream cheese filling cake - it was my favorite :) Happy Birthday baby!

Happy Anniversary

This cake was for family members who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary - the cake layers were "about" them :) The top layer had missionary tags, a picture of the Logan temple and "Happy Anniversary" and was an 8" round Lemon Cake/Lemon Curd filling, the second layer was piped icing to look like it was crocheted and showed a few of her hobbies - bowling, gardening & the crochetting and it was a 10" white cake with raspberry cream filling, the third layer was half "hunting" themed and half "construction" themed, and was a 12" round Chocolate cake with caramel swiss meringue filling. Congrats Jerry & Karen!
